The “God Emperor” Has No Clothes

About the unlawful arrest of Abrego Garcia and the Kafkaesque defiance by Donald Trump against the word of the Supreme Court
3

“I let him run on, this papier-mache Mephistopheles, and it seemed to me that if I tried I could poke my forefinger through him, and would find nothing inside but a little loose dirt, maybe.”

-Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness

Back in 2019, a giant papier-mâché sculpture slash float named Il Pa-Drone, or The Master Drone, began making the rounds at the Carnival of Viareggio in Italy. It was 65 feet tall, and depicted someone dressed as the God Emperor of Mankind from the game Warhammer 40,000. Wearing a full suit of gold armor, with a massive clawed hand and a flaming gold sword in his other, the float was a pretty crazy thing to see.

You may have even seen this float. Especially if you know it now by its oft-memed OTHER name:

God Emperor Trump.
