They say that good things come in threes, and in a rare bit of good news, I can confirm that the water’s heating up for a THIRD Trump impeachment.
That’s according to Jessica Corbett at Common Dreams, who was the first to report on polling done by Data for Progress. The organization reached out to 1,171 respondents across all political persuasions asking a few simple questions:
Do you support impeaching President Donald Trump?
Yes
No
Thinking of an impeachment effort led by Democrats in Congress, which of the following comes closest to your view, even if none are exactly right?
Democrats in Congress should attempt to impeach Trump because they have a duty to remove a president that has violated Americans' constitutional rights and the law.
Democrats in Congress should not attempt to impeach Trump because it is a performative action that will likely fail and make the Democratic Party look weak.
Democrats in Congress should not attempt to impeach Trump because he has not done anything worthy of impeachment
To the first question, it was discovered that not even 100 days into Donald Trump’s second term, over HALF of the respondents either “somewhat” or “strongly” supported impeachment. This includes 84% of all Democrats surveyed, as well as 55% of Independents - and somewhat surprisingly, 20% of all Republicans. That’s not a HUGE number of Republicans, mind you, but it’s not inconsequential.
